New poster about anxiety question

I know I am suffering from anxiety. I recently had a sexual encounter with a female of unknown HIV twice. The first time 2 months ago and I tested negative, second time May 6th and tested May 10th because the doctor said the tests are so sensitive that I could have the test done and it came out negative.

Now my problem is I am constantly feeling my lymph nodes in my neck and they have enlarged. People are telling me that it is due to my anxiety over the HIV and I have been having diarrhea and upset stomach. I start to calm down and leave my neck alone and then the lymph nodes stop swelling until I start touching again.

My question is am I having these phantom symptoms due to my anxiety and me thinking I have something wrong? Can anxiety do this to a person?

If you had protected sex, you had NO RISK, and no reason to test.
Your other physical symptoms are either anxiety related or you have an infection totally unrelated to HIV.

Yes, it's the anxiety. Take notice to how hard you are groping around when feeling for these lymph nodes. The constant probing is probably what's irritating them.

Trust the doctor's clean bill of health vs your own fears which are getting the better of you.

First of all stop having sex with this girl if its stressing you out so bad....And always use condoms so u wont have to worry so much. Secondly is yes anxiety can cause all those symptoms. I have had all those symptoms and its always due to health related anxiety issues. U need to calm down and find ways to deal with your anxiety! Keep busy and force yoruself to stop touching your neck that only makes you think about it more. Also exercise and deep breathing helps. If you keep having trouble you should talk to your dr....you might need some anti anxiety meds or at the very least a referral to see a therapist. Good luck!
