I would have to agree with Paxiled.  There are many factors to consider in switching medications.  Hopefully, your doc is knowledgeable and you have an open door for communication with him for your questions.  I know whenever I switched, started, stopped, or adjusted the dose, my anxiety level would rise. It was probably both a phsyical reaction and my worries abuot it that contributed to this.

Are you also in counseling for your anxiety?

Just keep pushing forward.  I know that anxiety can make us feel like you know what both physically and mentally.  In my experience with it, we tend to have setbacks as we go along the road to confronting it.  Just don't forget to give yourself credit for doing so...keep us posted!

Same question -- did the Celexa stop working?  Did you taper off it or switch suddenly to Prozac?  Celexa tends to be a better med generally for anxiety than Prozac because Prozac tends to be stimulating, though Prozac is considered an easier med to take and especially to stop taking.  If you quit Celexa cold turkey and just switched to Prozac, you could be suffering from withdrawal, or it cold be side effects of Prozac, or it could be the problem I mentioned, that Prozac tends not to work as well when anxiety is the main problem, though for some it works fine.  Lots to consider.

Yes, you can have increased anxiety while switching meds. Once you get used to the new med the anxiety should start going down. If that does'nt happen soon give your Dr a call to let him/her know about your panic attacks. Did you quit taking Celexa because it was not controlling your anxiety?
