Thank you all so much. I just feel so dreadfully ill and anxious I am virtually housebound now. I have requested some counselling so hope that will help.
I get physically ill as well but it depends on the level of anxiety and when its over I feel like I just ran a marathon. Very scary.
Crysda, my anxiety symptoms are so physical i was convinced it was a more serious issue. but doctor after doctor could not find anything wrong with me. something i've learned is that your body has a bazillion nerve endings and your brain controls every single one of them. when your wiring is misfiring, you feel the pains, the aches, the nausea, the heavy/dizzy head, etc. it's difficult to think otherwise but eventually your brain will reset itself and start to communicate with the rest of the body better. the pain will slowly get less and less and less. if you want to seek counseling/therapist, please talk to your doctor. they should have referrals for you. and i agree, it's so important to talk to a specialist about this. they have the training and knowledge to help you get through it.
Thanks everyone. I can't believe how ill and WEIRD I feel.
I should like to find a decent therapist but not sure how to go about it.
Fantastic that you are better Merlin. So inspiring to know.
Take it from someone who's been there. YES, it can make you feel physically sick. I have been seeing a therapist for the past 4 years dealing with depresion & anxiety. He has been a God send. Please seek help. Talk with someone who is experienced i n this field. I am now back to work and experiencing life in a whole new light. Life is great!!
I would have to agree that it can really make you feel like crap (I really don't think there is a more descriptive word for it) In my experience with anxiety, whenever I am stressed I would get headaches, dizziness, and my stomach would be in knots. It takes a toll on us both mentally and physically in my opinion. Being in a constant state of tension can make us feel run down to say the least.
Are you able to get help for your anxiety? By confronting and learning about, long term you can definitely deal with this quite effeciently in my opinion. There is a lot of support out there from individual to group counseling that helped me tremendously. Please keep us posted!
Yes it definitely can. Anxiety can accelerate your heart rate, breathing, cause dizziness and general tumult throughout your whole body. It can make you feel ill. Remember, there is a mind-body connection that is very strong. I recommend that you see your GP, or any doctor, and explain to him/her what you have written above. If possible keep a notebook of when and where this feeling starts. Maybe the doctor can either give you medication or suggest another method for you, but at any rate you will hopefully be better off. Good luck and God bless! Keep me posted.
