when this all started my bloods came back as low potassium, this is now rectified though.

Thx for replying.
My blood pressure and pulse is always taken whilst sitting or laying on my bed. the nurses just say its within normal limits.
The cardiac tech just put normal on my resukts. Will hopefully see the consultant tomorrow and will question him further, and push for cardiology referral. s there anything that i need to ask for
thx Sam
Hi,
Last year, I felt real dizzy one afternoon, super tight chest, heart pounding really bad, and I passed out, waking up in the ER. Thought I had a heart attack. I stayed in the hospital for 5 day's, had a heart cath done, heart was normal, had a stress done done, results were normal, Cardiologist said my heart was in perfect health.
A diagnoses was found, my system did not have any salt or potassium, none !! Doctor said drinking too much water, flushed vital fluids from my system. Salt & potassium is vital for the heart to function properly. I did not have a heart attack, but an over working heart.
Hope you feel better.
No improvement, my symptoms are worse. i now have a pain in the centre of my chest that i can only descibe as my vein being torn. the veins in my hand are starting to bulge and i cansee all of thr veins in my fingers which i have never see before. i am constantly sleeping and pretty much have the pins and needles in my arms anr neck all of the time.my blood pressure varies from 165/100 to 108/60 and there is a dufference between bp in my left and right arm. also suffering from constant palpitations.
i am back in hospital and they have done numeroous ecgs which are apparently all normal and only show sinus arrythmia, a chest x ray - normal, an echocardiogram-normal, stress test- normal. my heart rate went up to 230bpm tho whilst walkking.
d-dimer normal result of 190, troponin test negative.they have takenlots of blood but not sure what they are testing for.
as all of the tests have come back as normal no one thinks thatit is cardiac so they will not refer me to cardiology.
is it possible for an echo to come back as normal but inreality the results are notnormal for my heart.
the likelyhood is that they will discharge me tomorrow and there will not be any other hospitals to go to. i really feel like i am dying.
All this tests will determine what you have.
good luck and please go over everything calmly and slow with your doctor try to coraporate with him.
I'm thinking a dozen conditions you might have but I need more information.
good luck
I would recommend going to your primary care physician and explain everything to him/her and tell him all your symtoms and previous medical history, also try getting tested for autoimmune disorders this is not likely but it wouldn't hurt to get tested.
Get an EKG done for at least 30 minutes or a 2 day heart monitor. Tell your physician to do a CBC (Complete blood count) and a chem 20 with magnisium, pottasium, sodium, etc. Finally get a Thyroid test & a urine sample. If your doctor doesn't coaporate just go to the ER and tell them everything and get a reforal to another cardiologist STAT this is an organic (biological problem).
Good Luck
Hi Ryan,
1) It was a uterine infection. They put me on a cocktial of anitbiotics though as they wanted to make sure it cleared up. Unsure of the type.
2) Had 3 episodes of fainting. 1st one i got up and washed my face then just collaped. I was tachy when I came to but previous to the collapse my pulse was 42bpm. 2nd I got off of the bed when I was in intesive care and my heart rate went from 58bpm to 158. I was hooked up to a monitor, lots of arrythmias as my pulse came down. 3rd walked acrodd a room and just collapsed, this was when I woke up with the stabbing pains.
3) What kind of cardia origin, i don;t really understand
6) My feet are constantly freezing i have to wear to pairs of socks and they are still cold. My knees, hands and feet turn a purple kind of colour and when i touch them the area turns white and it takes ages for the blood to return to them. Not noticed blue finger nails
7) i have over the past two weeks had some shortness of breath, but it isn't like a panic attack
8) Other symtoms - I have developed a roaring in my ears
Do you have any advice on what this could be and where i should go from here, the doctors are not willing to do anything else they think that it is me doing all of this to myself. I am so scared that they have misdiagnosed and that i will die from this (there's the anxiety part!), I have tried averything and nothing eases it, it just gets worse each day.
Many thanks
Sam
P.S Are you a doctor by anychance?
