Hm, this is a stupid question but its causing anxiety.

I know I always post stupid questions on here but I like to because somene answers and it relieves my anxiety.
Well on Friday my dad bought a head of lettuce (iceberg), and like usual when we go to eat some we take the entire first layer off and then wash it througly.
I ate some today @ midnight (so technically Wendsday) is it gone bad? I dont know how to tell. It was still the same color as it was i guess and it had like a random brown spot on one of the pieces but i didnt eat it.
Please tell me im not gunna get food poisoning or ecoli from this. :(
Thank you,

I second the motion to get a package of organic spring greens.  Have been eating them for a couple of months.  So delicious.  A varied combination of leafy greens ; much tastier than iceberg which I used to buy too.

I don't have tv or read scary stuff about food, but do want good fresh veggies.  Your anxiety may be what moved you to post question, but I do hope you switch to spring greens.

Oh, and if it had e coli or something, you wouldn't be able to see it.  What you're seeing is just it getting old.  You can refresh greens by bathing them in warm water.

Just to help prevent this next time, all iceberg lettuce is "bad."  It has absolutely no nutritional value.  Switch to Romaine and Green Leaf, or even better, a spring mix or something like it that has dandelion greens, parsley, watercress, and the like, which are chock full of minerals and good nutrition.  That will save you from the fact that iceberg does go bad more quickly in spots than other lettuces.  (From an old produce manager).

First of all, you are not posting a dumb question.  Anxiety can really take over our lives and this is a community for people seeking help.  Is it likely you are going to get sick from the lettuce?  In my opinion, you are going to be fine.  Even though you here of stories on the news, we have some of the safest food in the world as far as contamination goes:).  Are you currently in counseling to seek help and understanding for you anxiety?
