Not sure what topic?

I am a very tense and anxious person so I have soreness and tightness in my neck and shoulders.  I am 65 years old and sometimes when I wake up in the mornings I have the sensation of a Vertigo-type over- the- top- of- a Ferris- Wheel sensation. Everything is spinning and gradually it goes away  in a few minutes.  I attribute it to probably a pinched nerve in my neck that is affected when I sleep on one side of my head which causes this. I had this same sensation Monday morning but it never completely went away. I had a Research Study to go to and this Nurse Practititioner asked me questions like who is the President, the year, then she asked me the day and date.  I couldn't remember the date.  The day finally came to me but not the date.  Finally she practically told me. I felt horrible. I had a traumatic experience on the day before with a family member that lasted for hours.  Could the dizziness and the mental block be related? I am still having occasional dizzy spells.

You say you have too much time on your hands. You could try volunteering to keep occupied. Loousiville is a big city so there must be a volunteer center if you can't think of anything that interests you. Volunteering allows you to learn something new too which will take up more of your time.

Your symptom sounds like Mineire's.  Might ask about that -- dizziness after laying down is a classic symptom.

Thank you so much for your comments.  I appreciate them so much.  I find myself forgeting how to spell simple words also.  I feel like I am hanging on by a thread since I have gotten old-am 65 now.  It seems like I am hyper-sensitive to what people say to me so I over-react to what they say but also the negative behavior of other seems to drive me absolutely nuts. I always live my life by the saying "a rolling stone gathers no moss!"  It is still my montra more than ever now.  I have to keep rolling or I get stagnant and depressed.I have been depressed all my life and aniety ridden.  My thinking process has always been delayed because of my high anxiety.  Life has always been a stuggle for me and working has always been hard for me because of my self-doubt and anxiety.  I now am not working so I have to much time to think. Thanks again for taking the time to comment on  my issue.

... And sometimes my forgetfulness is so strange that i cant remember how to spell "the".  Or which side is the correct side to drive on (while im driving) and also sometimes it takes me more time than normal to figure out my right from my left. But i think im just overthinking n having " brainfarts" due to stress.

You can have dizziness and forgetfulness with anxiety. Most of us that have it also have the muscle pain, especially the neck and shoulders. If I were you I would get in to see the Dr though to see if you may have an ear or sinus infection. Either could cause the dizziness.
