I just don't want to live this way any more...

Over the past couple months, I've gone through a lot of changes in my life that have caused tons of stress and anxiety. Being only 16, it *****. A lot.

Now where to begin...

Last night I developed this headache that has been bothering me and got worse today. I have been under a lot of stress lately and deal with depression and GAD. I take 3 different medications. I am also a hypochondriac. Basically I'm constantly worried that I have a brain aneurysm. My parents refuse to take me to the doctor to get my head scanned and the doctor won't send in for one. I have had weird symptoms for months like pressures, pricks, pulsing, and burning on my scalp and in my head along with random pressures behind my eyes and in my ears, mild pulsing in my ears after I run, other headaches, and the pulsing one I developed today. I fear that this hopefully imaginary aneurysm is getting closer to bursting even though I'm only 16, don't have high blood pressure, aneurysms don't run in my family, and other factors. I've also been having random allergy problems.

That was what I posted a few hours ago on Yahoo Answers. I'm seeing a therapist and thought I was on the right track until bam, this happens. I exercise though, and if I did have an aneurysm, wouldn't things have happened already? It still scares me though that maybe thus headache was a lealready or something. I have dealt with heart fears, still dealing with blood clot fears and other random diseases. I have also gone through depression and suicide attempts. I just am in desperate need for help.

What kind of medications are you on and for how long? Some of these medications can give us headaches.  I also have a great deal of anxiety.  I get terrible headaches from that.  Keep up the exercise.  At the tender age of 16,  I think that it is your mind worrying too much.  Have you ever tried relaxation therapy and meditation?.  It is awesome. Try it out.  I am sure your therapist can hook you up with that. Hang in there.  Enjoy your life.       WendyJones

Hi,
Anxiety is tough to deal with at any age.. I am 23 years old and have been dealing with it for over a year now... So you are definitely not alone in what you are feeling... Anxiety causes a lot of physical symptoms and headaches are very common.. I know it is hard to believe that you don't have all these crazy medical conditions but trust that with anxiety the majority if not all symptoms are going to be related to it... now that doesn't mean you shouldn't listen to your body and consult with your doctor whenever you feel like something may not be right...the throbbing headache you are describing is common with a tension headache which is directly related to the stress you have been under...one thing that helps me with these headaches is Tylenol and applying ice packs to the area and the headache quickly disappears.. Please don't give into anxiety it will destroy you and I speak from experience just take it one day at a time.. this community is always here if you ever need someone to talk with :)
