Just think back at the times you thought you just could not handle it anymore...AND HERE YOU ARE!!! We all go through things that will end up benefitting someone else...The information you share here about your personal struggles have strengthened others, along with the fact that just as you said, the drs do not go through it, hence no official data to print and share...Thank God for people like you, who take the time to inform in a caring way as well as take to heart the answers of encouragement.....BEEN THERE...The just hang in there is the hardest part...If someone said...Eat raw spinach every day....GREAT...you eat it...things balance out......hang in there...in essence means...endure......THINK ABOUT THIS...In relation to taking meds, when do you eat, how long before and what do you eat...Some meds that cause side effects as upset stomachs, heart palpitations, worsening of symptoms especially when changing meds and your body learning to metabolize it... IF YOU CHANGE WHAT YOU EAT OR THE TIMING OF FOOD AND MEDS....It could make the symptoms lessen by a great degree...It helped me greatly to have several crackers and a piece of butter bread 10-15 min prior to meds...One med that I was to take at bedtime.....I COULDN'T GET UP IN THE A.M. and very sluggish with dizzyness and almost DRUNK type physical reactions as far as walking, gate and ability to stand up straight without...HOLDING THAT WALL UP!!! I told the drs....like you they said ....soon.....Keep taking it.....I felt.....NOT WELL!!! BRILLIANT IDEA!!!! Take the pill at 5-pm eating as I said just prior......AMAZING!!!! The next day I woke refreshed and felt better than I had in years and I still take them this way as well as others that cause stomach issues, however I do NOT HAVE ANY OF THOSE ISSUES anymore EVEN WHEN I WAS PUT ON ZOLOFT then 21/2 years later it was changed to something else...and you know the story form there...you are telling us and we are there with you girl. There are still some days that are more challenging than others....I just say...THANK GOD.....I"M STILL ALIVE!! GOD BLESS and keep us updated on your feeling better!!! loimmarmar
If the Paxil works it will likely take away most of those anxiety symptoms. If you have had these symptoms for five years before the Paxil, then it really is normal for them to worsen a bit before they get better. I think that's the case with most SSRI's. You were probably at your breaking point when you started the Paxil so you are really having a rough time. I'm so sorry you are going through this. At least the symptoms are not CAUSED by the new med . The Paxil is simply exaggerating them for now. Keep up the good work and hope you feel better in the next couple of days.
Thanks guys for yur respones....I am only now on day 8 and I just dont know if I will make it much further or not....you are probably right about its more my anxiety than the paxil and I am probably making it worse...but if the paxil does work will it take away all these sensations I am getting from the anxiety....my dizziness, nausea, blurry vision and headaches....I have had these for 5 years now daily and I mean daily....if it isnt going to take all these feelings away whats the use of taking it...Just hope these feeling will go away....I am afraid my mind will take over more than the medication....just hope i can get thru....thanks for the encouragement....
Do you think some of these side effects are magnified or made worse because of your anxiety? I know that whenever I start, stop, or adjust the dosage of an SSRI like Paxil, I do tend to get side effects for a couple of weeks, however, I noticed they would be much worse if I was going through a stressful period or my anxiety was flaring up. I believe the side effects were probably the same, but my experience was different because I tended to relate every single thing I perceived wrong to the medication when it probably had to do a lot with my anxiety.
My anxiety can come in waves, so that is why I was wondering if it could possibly be more of an anxiety/panic issue right now? Keep us posted!
Hang in there! Just hang on it will get better! If not theyll take you off it but they just want you to really try it as when it works it obviously does you a lot of good.Lily
