Thanks for replying! I haven't seen an ENT but I'll definitely look Into it . Some symptoms went away with the antibiotics for acute sinisitus.. But I really worry why my head still feels so strange and "dizzy" I can't quite explain. My doctors say vertigo. How long do u think it may take for the residual symptoms to fully clear ? Ofcourse once I get my worrying under control . Also, do u think it's necessary I do a CT scan or MRI ?
Hello there! I'm sorry you're struggling so much!
My guess is that your symptoms are a little bit of both...some residual symptoms from the ear/sinusitis and some anxiety. There is actually a pretty significant correlation between the symptoms of inner ear disturbances and anxiety. The symptoms alone can cause a person to feel anxious, because the symptoms are unnerving.
It's not uncommon though for you to be still having some symptoms, even though the doctor cannot see fluid in your ear anymore, that can take some time, especially because the fluid has to reabsorb. Have your symptoms improved since the onset of the sinusitis at least?
My recommendation to you is to try to give yourself some time to allow everything to normalize. In the meantime, as hard as it may be, try very hard not to spend a lot of time focusing on how you feel and analyzing every sensation. That WILL cause anxiety for sure. Try to just live your life as normally as possible, and try to be a little patient with yourself.
Have you seen an ENT doctor? If not, that's not a bad idea either, just to cover your bases, and maybe get another opinion. If the symptoms are residual from the infection, the ENT may have some ideas on how to treat you symptomatically.
Hang in there, update us on how you're feeling!
