If you have any ??? about postpartum I would be happy to reply. I hope you don't experience it though. My OBGYN put me on celexa after my son was born. It helped alot! I am taking Lexapro
now. Just started taking it in Oct. for anxiety. It's also helped me alot! Good luck!!
I took Lexapro for many years. If you were put on Lexapro for depression and are now pregnant, I believe that once you are in your second trimester, it should be safe to go back on it, to treat your depression. Of course, ask your doctor. Never take a non-medical person's advice.
If you start a pregnancy already depressed, the chances of post-partem depression are even greater. I would talk to your doctor about this.
If you are worried about withdrawals from the Lexapro, the "weird shocks" you talk about will go away very shortly, if this is indeed a withdrawal from the drug.
I would listen to your OB/GYN on this one. They know what is safest to take, while you are pregnant and the risk or none-risks are; for your growing fetus.
Congratulations on the upcoming birth. What a wonderful time in a woman's life.
Best Wishes, Heather
