Can you get better? Yes! The greatest obstacle is ourselves is overcoming the fear of the fear. Things in our life make us uncomfortable which creates a cascade of neurological, highly remembered pathways, fallout. We first recognize the event that bothered us and then we remember the icky feeling we are having. The second part is the most difficult. Our sensitivity threshold drops and we want to hide from anything that may create a negative state, because even those most subtle event will create a hyper response of our central neverous system. Your Amygadala has recorded a memory of your sensitivity and now even a subconscious blip will get you going. I have found that panic and anxeity are really whimpy. Trying turning over your power to them...they just collapse. They need us to stay alive. They produce these sensation that make us view the work through a scary lense. There is a great book about overcoming panic called embracing fear Benis and Barrada. Another good program that is used by many therapist is called the Linden program. You sound like you have been struggling with this for a while, very common. Some have had it for over 2 decades. When your anxious it is hard to let go. However, the paradox is that letting go is the answer. And while we trust the sensations of fear more than we trust the logic of the paradox, training needs to begin. Medication with training can be very helpful. Medication alone...not so good long term, but sometime you have to get our of the strong current before you can begin to walk back upstream.

thank you sooo much. Yes i have had this a long time. I see the triggers but feel helpless to stop them. I notice the thoughts, remind myself not to get in the stream of the thoughts, but can watch myself slip down the path of my historical thinking. I am going to take your advice and try to turn over to the anxiety and pain. I lost my mom 2 years ago tomorrow and it seems my sibs with her. We all didn't agree on what to do when she became inferm and fell apart. I am really missing having a close family and my brother called and triggered so much and i can do nothing but cry today. I will just face accept and embrace and see how it goes. You sound like someome who knows what they speak and i am choosing to listen. thanks again
