I doubt seriously you have gotten over it.  I would guess that is why you are feeling as you are now.  Have you been to a therapist or talked to anyone since the assault?  It is very important, after something that traumatic, not to try to suck it up and deal with it yourself.  It will come back and bite you in the butt.  I am a rape survivor and I didn't deal with it.  I just kept shoving it out of my head and telling myself I was ok.  I wasn't.  Therapy does help.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if you are suffering with PTSD. In many cases of PTSD, we feel that we're doing OK, but that's only because we've shoved all the fear and horror very deep inside. It can only stay hidden for just so long before it begins erupt in very negative ways, and what you are experiencing now is pretty damn negative, to say nothing of terribly frightening.
I would strongly urge you to find a good psychiatrist and begin to deal with all this. It's not going to go away by itself. You were a very young girl when this extremely traumatic event happened but the older and wiser you is now ready to deal with it.
Please do not wait any longer to seek the help you need. Your doctor should be able to recommend a psychiatrist to you or the police department that handled your case can put you touch with people who can help you.
My heart really goes out to you, Sweetie.
Trust me..........living healed is the best revenge!

hmm post tramatic stress is a horrid thing. First after getting better did something happen to you that may have caused you to fall back into this. Therapy seems to be the right route here. I do have to congrulate u on not wanting to takes med as all they do is cover a problem. But i do advise you to try therapy if you havent yet or to go back if you stoped. You may need to work it out more. Some other things that help is medditation not just learning how to clam yourself but focus your thoughts. I hope for the best for you and am srry that i cannot offer you better advise
