Probability of getting HIV

Hi,

Had a one night stand with a girl (sister's friends friend). She mentioned that she had been dating someone for about 7-8 months (i have no idea who). We were a little drunk, but we met at a pub, and within 5 minutes went to the bar. After talking, pub-hopping for about 2 hours, we had sex. She had a condom at her place. I used protection obviously. The last position was missionary and i came inside her (thinking i'm still wearing the condom as i was before we we got into the last position). After i ejaculated, i was inside her for sometime while she gyrated. After i pulled out (with a jerk), she got startled and said that i had in fact come inside her. When we got up and saw, the condom was on the bed, but so was the *** (not spread randomly, but all in one place). I left the next morning and tried getting in touch with her to ask her whether she was positive or not (she is 22 years of age) but she has not responded to my messages (i haven't mentioned the questions in the messages, i just messaged that i needed to talk to her). This happened on 21st December 2013, and I got myself tested today and it was nonreactive. Just wanted to know the possibility and chances of me getting the HIV. (The friend told me later that the girl was a little promiscuous..she had a few tattoos too...but she had told me that she lost her virginity around a year ago and had been with a couple of guys, but i don't know whether she can be trusted)

Sounds like you become easily obsessed with certain things.  Have you ever been diagnosed with OCD?  I would recommend seeking professional help before these issues become worse.

Thank you for you reply. This is sort of the first time i am dealing with anxiety, but i do have an issue when it comes to any sort of result oriented outcome, especially when it is a few days month away (exam, and now HIV)..

this is not the first time i've had HIV related anxiety..my first experience with a woman was without protection but that was quite a few years ago..i got myself tested then too and it was negative..since then i've only been in steady relationships..and this was a one time mistake which i intend to never repeat..

but ever since the exposure, my  mind is constantly bothered about it..its almost as if im a hyper-condriac as im unable to concentrate on anything..i try to fight the thoughts of my symptoms, but i do have mild flu like symptoms..but they have been present for the last one month or so (on and off)..since i know rashes are a symptom, i keep thinking some or the other part of my body is itching..and a red rash is left..which thankfully goes away..

i just hope im able to survive like this for the time period..as it is seriously hampering my regular life..

i have visited a psychologist once due to some relationship issues, which i got obsessed with..

how do i get over this as all i can think about right now is this..

This is not the appropriate forum to discuss HIV.  You would need to post your HIV related questions on one of our HIV forums...HIV Prevention, or one of our HIV expert communities.

I will briefly address your HIV questions.  It sounds like you lost the condom upon w/d, which is a common occurrence if you weren't holding onto the base of your penis when you pulled out.  Losing the condom upon withdrawal would not be a risk.  A person potentially becomes exposed to HIV (and subsequently placed at risk) when there is a BARE penis inside a vagina or rectum.

Even IF you had not used a condom at all, statistically speaking, it would be highly unlikely for ONE episode of heterosexual intercourse to result in HIV infection, for numerous reasons (likelihood that your partner was infected, brevity of the exposure, etc).  If you want to proceed with testing, you probably already know that 3 months is conclusive.  Any negative after about 6 weeks is VERY VERY reassuring and highly unlikely to change.

Now, let's discuss your anxiety, as that is the point of this community.  Is this the first time you've found yourself overly concerned about HIV,m or do you have a history of that?

Have you ever been treated for anxiety in the past?  If so, how, what and when?  Any other pertinent information?

Ok for ur question A)
for a accurate result. u can go check ur self again after 3months.
and about the possibility of u getting HIV is hard to say, We don't know if the girl u were with has HIV or any STD. we don't know her history. But don't assume too much. just relax. don't stress it..

B) Yes it can drip out from the vaginal. and remember women do discharge fluid too..

Thank you so much for your response. But i had a couple of questions:-

a. what are the stats, probability of me getting hiv due to this one time..and when should i get myself tested again? its not too expensive for me, so i can get it done at regular intervals..

b. im not too sure, but why was the semen outside, if i had ejaculated inside?? does it drip out of the vagina irrespective?? she was lying down..
