lexapro is for both depression and anxiety. it supposed to be better for depression. but it works for anxiety, so it might be good for you. ask your doctor. it takes like a month to kick in. so give it time. my doctor said its probable the best now for anxiety , they don't have drugs much better. plus i didn't want to trake a narcotic. good luck Kevin
Hi, I've been on Klonopin for a year or so for anxiety and right now I feel like I need an anti-depressant. So, your post about Lexapro caught my eye. You posted this in the anxiety forum but I thought Lexapro was for depression. Since I am experiencing both anxiety and depression I'm wondering what I should be on. Can you give me any info on why you or your doctor chose Lexapro for you? There are so many meds out there that it's hard to figure out which one would be the best to take. Thanks for any advice. And good luck to you!
I am glad you are making progress! In my experience it does take a little while for the body to adjust to the medication sometimes. Also, remember, not to get too discouraged if some symptoms come back after they fade away. As in life, anxiety will have its ups and downs, but through this all you are gaining the knowledge to confront this. Do not forget what you are learning and keep us posted!
