Introducing the Community Leader Program, and 2 Community Leaders

Hi,

We're very pleased to announce the launch of our new Community Leader program. As MedHelp has grown in both number of members and the number of communities we have, the needs of these communities has also grown. Our Pregnancy communities would like to see different features than our Ovarian Cancer community. Out of this need, we came up with the Community Leader program.

A Community Leader will be a MedHelp member who will act like an ambassador to MedHelp, helping to communicate the feedback from the community as well as help us communicate back to the community from MedHelp. When we launch new features, like the Notes feature today, they will be able to help out with any questions. In addition to helping MedHelp, they will also be working with their community to help it grow, by welcoming new members, bringing up suggestions, etc. As always, anyone is still welcome to contact MedHelp directly. We love hearing from our members and it's a big part of what has made the site what it is today.

One thing to note, Community Leaders, will not be replacing the MedHelp moderators currently monitoring the site, however, the Leaders will be able to help if there is an issue and work with our moderators to address it. The Leaders are not working for MedHelp, they are still members, but ones that have taken on some added responsibility.

We're extremely excited about this program, and we're pleased to announce that we already have two Community Leaders for the Anxiety community.  Please join us in welcoming JSGeare and greenlydia as the first Community Leaders for this community. Both have been a terrific help in the Anxiety community, and JSGeare is one of the first leaders to be public while we have been testing this out. We're excited both have agreed to be a Community Leader and we're looking forward to working with them and you, to continue improving the experience in this community.

Thank you to everyone who has offered me their congratulations on my "posting." I am quite honored that MedHelp thinks I am worthy of this position of trust and I will do my very best to live up to it. What I would like to make really clear to everyone is that this posting does NOT make me better than anyone else, I have NOT magically become wiser or all-knowing, I don't suddenly have any magic answers or powers and I still struggle with my own demons. And all of YOU, whether you know it or not, give ME a great deal of support, which is what brought me to this "family" in the first place and it's what keeps me here now.  
I hope you will all be patient with me as I learn the ropes and I will be counting heavily on our beloved JSGeare to guide me through the ups and downs, ins and outs of this role.
I'm still just me guys..........plain old Greenlydia, but now I have a little purple flower by my name. So, hop on the "Magic Bus," for all of you old enough to know what that is!

how about we compromise medhelp? give me a lil red or yellow star by my name like on ebay? i could be like a powerseller or poster? blue is my favorite color just so you know haha.....

but for real....this means that you guys are recoginzed for really helping and supporting other human beings that are in pain. there is no better service you can do on this earth! don't know how religious you are but that is why we are all here. to love and help one another.....God Bless
