I suspect it arises from this:

-----------------
It is not recommended to use baby powder for infants, especially girls, because talc has been implicated in genital cancer, including ovarian cancer decades after use. Baby cornstarch may often be substituted.
Its important to keep all substances, even those we would not think of as "dangerous", in their original childproof packaging, and out of the reach of children.
Hm, so baby oil is a no for babies but hey! We can still rub it all over our bodies and lay out in the sun to get a tan, right?
my friends mother used to lay out with an iodine/baby oil mixture.....that couldnt have been safe, lol.
Yeah! Don't you know that was all the rage back in the 70's & 80's? Slather up like a greased turkey! Lol
Worked best if you had a sun reflector...tinfoil or something. Sigh, I miss the days when we didn't know anything about sun damage. I was such a sun worshipper.
Wait, baby powder is not good to use esp on little girls??? I use it every time I change my 8 mo old daughteR??!
From my understanding you don't want it to get up into the vagina (the baby powder)
Ah, yes, a sun reflector! Forgot about those!
You don't want to use baby powder in the diaper area at all.
Baby cornstarch is ok to use.
I would have used baby powder for sure until I read this. It seems I have much to learn before this little guy comes into the world....help!
I went home and immediately checked the baby powder I use on sarah. It is Cornstarch! PHEW!!!
