I am 45 y/o/ DX with Sjogren's Syndrome (SJS) in April of 2016, via lip bx because I was sero-negative in April of 2016. I am still sero-negative as of 8/9/19. I started seeing a new Rheumy and she ran some blood work & I asked her to check my SJS antibodies. They both came back negative, again.
My ANA came back high at 1:3. It has never been elevated......EVER (not even 3.5 yrs ago when I was first dx with SJS). It had always been negative. My RNP also came back high at 1.7. My RF has been slightly elevated for a while at 15. I'm not sure about my DNA double stranded Ab serum. It came back at <12.3 It just has an asterisk by it. No notation of whether it is high or low.
My questions are...... 1. does this mean my SJS is getting worse instead of better? (been on the same medicine regimen since day 1.... 400 mg daily of Plaquenil & 90 mg daily of Evoxac) 2. does this mean I am trying to develop another AID? 3. Does this not mean a dang thing....just that I do indeed have an AID?
I have called my Rheumy's office & we are playing phone tag lol
I have somewhat of a medical background. So I have a bit of an understanding. But I am SO confused when it comes to the AI stuff. This is so confusing & frustrating....
TIA to anyone who reads & or replies.
