Yes, some of the autoimmune diseases like lupus can mimic MS. So can Lyme Disease and vitamin deficiencies (B12 especially). A brain tumur or stroke could depending on the areas affected. Thyroid disease might.
I was tested for lyme disease, lupus, and aspartame poisioning believe it or not, and several other things as well.so the answer would be yes, and whatever dr. you see should do the spinal tap, mri, and blood work to find out. the spinal tap will give the most diffinite answer. good luck:)
There is a condition called Antiphospolipid Syndrome, which mimics MS to a tee.
Also Lupus and Sjorgens and neuro bechets, can mimic MS,,, There is also Transverse Myelitis which can mimic MS also.
Antiphospolipid Syndrome, would be the first i would get checked for.. It is easy to test and is two simple bloodtests. Those being ACA=ANTICARDIOLIPIN ANTIBODIES, and LA=LUPUS ANTICOAGULANT.
you only need to test positive for one of the bloodtests.
Good Luck
