Foot drop and muscle weakness

Ive had one test for Myasthenia that was positive and one that was negative. There is a family history of foot drop and scoliosis ( not MG) I have got foot drop and muscle weakness but other trsts (CT, MRI and spinal tap ) were normal. Im waiting for NCS and EMG test results. Can anybody advise me on what tests I should get for a diagnosis because after 16 months I am considerably weaker and emotionally drained. Thank you

Peggy, I'm doing real good.
I managed to escape the cold  for a few weeks. Went down to Mexico
on the Pacific coast and just came back last week.
Don't ask me why I came back so early.

Sorry to hear that you not doing so well, but I hope after you get your results, that some treatment that works can be implemented.

You could look into a trial supplementation of of Methylocobalamin (neurological form of B12) and 5-MethylTetraHydroFolate (neurological form of folate) which could be deficient in your body and your doctors would not know anything about it, unless a specific CSF Homocysteine test was done. The standard MMA test won't indicate this possible deficiency.
If you feel better within a few weeks of supplementation of these, that would be a strong indicator, that you have under-methylation issues.
(Again, something your doctors wouldn't know anything about).

Keep me posted if you feel up to it!

Wishing you well.
Niko

Hi yes I remember you. How are you? I haven't followed up with the postherpetic treatment because none of the doctors have been very helpful. Having said that I have recently had the NCS and EMG tests and Im waiting for the results. The cold weather has made mobility alot worse and Im continuing with physiotherapy. What about you?

Hey Peggy,
Remember me? I responded last year to your questions.
Did you follow up with the PHN (postherpetic neuralgia)  treatment ?

Let me know what happened since that time, when you get a chance.

Cheers.
