Lots of issues... main one being sweating

I'm a 29 year old female with a low immune system. I tend to get sick easily and stay sick for a long time. I was a premi at 3 months early and 2 pounds 13 oz. I've had a host of things wrong an in the last year I've had resp infections, sinus infections, parvo virus, ear infections, pleurisy, bronchitis, c-diff, mrsa, gastroenteritis, etc. I really haven't been well since last September. I tend to get well for a week or so then get sick again with something else. My job doesn't help. I work registration at an ER.

Currently I have been having excess sweating for around 3 months now, and it started after I had mrsa/abscess. It started with night sweats while I was sick. I have had night sweats almost every night since. But I also seem to be heat intolerant. I wake up in the morning and I'm drenched just from walking from one room to the other, and it's full body, head to toe sweating. I can't go shopping without breaking into a full body sweat as well. Even at work where I mainly sit in one spot for 12 hours I sweat. It runs down my face. I can't wear makeup any more. It runs down my back, etc. It's embarrassing and gross.

I had hyperhidrosis of the hands from around age 4 til 20, but had ETS-C surgery 9 years ago and my t4 clamped. Even my hands are sweating now.

I've been looking up a lot of things online about excess sweating causes and it seems thyroid issues could be it. I go to the doctor Monday and am hoping she will run test this time (I went a month ago and she didn't do anything)...

I also seem to be tired all the time, and run out of energy quickly and when mowing my yard(which is small) I get way over heated, look like I jumped in the pool, my face is red and I feel like I may vomit.

But I also have notice my urine smells a bit like oranges, and I haven't had orange juice. I also read that is a possible sign of type 2 diabeties. Around 5 years ago I was tested as borderline hypoglycemic.

I have gained quit a bit of weight in the last 2 years. I've gone from around 130 to 165, and I understand weight gain can cause diabeties.

I have also been having bad eye strain, and blood shot lines in my eyes from the white to the pupil. I bruise easily as well.

I have been "tested" for autoimmune... although the dr didn't tell me what they tested for or the results of the test. I was sent back to my primary who said it "really didn't show anything".

I believe there's got to be something auotimmune because I've been sick all my life but in the last 9 years it's really taken it's toll on me. I had my tonsils out 3 years ago due to tonsillitis 3 months in a row. And as i mentioned earlier I keep getting sick, although it seems like I've had something different every month for the past year now.

I had a bout with high blood pressure, and it's normal again. I have had migraines where one pupil gets large and the other stays small and I've been tested for animal and outdoor allergies and was allergic to everything on the test.

I am on: buspar, atenolol, lutera, xyzal, sumatriptan, dicylomine, naprosen, and wellbutrin.

Niko,

I do try to eat well as I'm a lacto-ovo vegetarian. My thyroid test came back "within normal rages". Next is a hormone test at the gyno... as they are suggestion early menopause. I normally have 7 day long peroids but now they are 2 day and light.

I was advised that etsc causes comp sweating, but there is NO part of my body that isn't sweating, even my hands which haven't sweated for the last 9 years. It's worse when I walk outside, as if there is a heat intollerance. But happens inside when I'm in AC as well.

Yeah, we did the iontophorisis for quite awhile and there was no results.

I had called the dermatologist but they can't get me in til November as the dr has injured himself pretty badly..

I did try to go off some of the medicine which ended badly and I was put back on but lower doses.

So, Sept 11th we'll see what the gyno says and hopefully runs more test.

I had test ran last nov at the cancer center for immune diseases and I was never really given information about it other than one of my drs said he didn't see anything to worry about.

I've been having painful and red eyes, and kind of was expecting it to come back with hyperthyroid and graves... but I wasn't tested for graves.

So... I'm tired, and discouraged. :(

Hey Jessica.

I guess I'm a bit of a purist. What happened to the "Do no harm" rule in medicine?
Originally, in an ideal medical world, the surgeon at the
Hyperhidrosis Institute in Hollywood FL, would have consulted with you PCP to make sure all recommended approaches where considered and tried,(which they were- was the iontophorisis done over extended time? ) AND that deficiencies (like vitamin B1 and magnesium) ,hormonal/adrenal abnormalities, sympathetic nervous system impairment, were all checked thoroughly, before surgery would be considered.
Were you advised of the  most common secondary effect of ETS by far is compensatory sweating?
Of course you can't go back, but it's very useful to know what you are dealing with presently.

Definitely, your immune system is compromised.
If I were you, I would put as priority #1 : Strengthen your Immune system!
Detox, distress, correct imbalances and deficiencies, eat and drink healthy.
Medical Doctor's DO NOT prescribe this to their patients!
Medication is mainly good for acute issues. In chronic issues, medication often becomes an issue itself, as the root cause is not being addressed.
You work in ER and you understand this, I'm sure.

If you need any more details or info , please post again.
Take care!

Niko,

It was done at the hyperhidrosis institute in Hollywood FL - (handsweat.org)
We were given papers at the time, and I'm sure my Father has them filed away somewhere, but being that was almost 10 years ago I can't give you that info right off the top of my head.

We were told that if something was to go wrong after cutting that there's no way to correct it, whereas if anything goes wrong after clamping they can always remove the clamps and I'd be bak to "normal".

I don't think this is a side effect, as I had noted side effects a few months after getting it done. My "new issues" after ETS-C was sweating on my lower back where I hadn't previously sweated.

I'm not sure where you think that I didn't meet the criteria for surgery? I did drysol under the arms & hands, which burnt my arms to bright red... I did the iso(something or other) where I'd put my hands in the water with electric current running through it... I did numerous other things as well, but my hand sweating and chest flushing continued. So the end result was surgery.

I just had my tsh test done on Tuesday.. no results yet.

I don't know a lot about most of my family history on my biological mothers side of the family but I do know we do have a lot of medical issues on both sides. One side is cancer, thyroid, diabeties, mental disorders, and the other is blood pressure, mental disorders, cancer,  and a lot of other things I'm not aware of.

My primary dr is stumped, and she wants me to go to a dermatologist, and I'm really not sure why....

Jessica

Hey glossed.
Welcome to the forum.

Can you give me all the details regarding your ETS-C surgery?
Also can you get the manufacturer and  material safety data sheet on the t4 clamp?
My suspicion is that you have been suffering from some of the worse side-effects from your ETS-C surgery. I also suspect that you would have not met all the criteria for this surgery, you were not told that ETS without the clamps has LESS side effects by cutting the t4, you were not told about the long list of possible side effects of ETS in general and that the satisfaction level drops over time significantly, as most people experience
a number of possible complications-not reported in most studies conducted, as the onset of  many complications takes place well after the
initial post-surgery period (when the majority of interviews and data collection are done).

You should also look into pituitary gland and thyroid dysfunction,
candidiasis (systemic yeast infection),  parasympathetic dominance
(due to your ETS) and alkaline diet - re:weight gain and other symptoms-(you are on too many meds causing elevated PH values).

Please post again here or if you prefer pm me directly for more details.
Take care.
Niko
