Don't know whats wrong..?

Firstly last year about 8 months ago my thumb starting twitching constant for a week and then a lot for 2 months.. I went to neurologist, had EMG"s and everything, was diagnosed with Benign faciculations, but then reccently my left foot started to twich in one spot for constantly for over 2 weeks, then started going away, went to neurologist she said i was completely normal and need to see someone about my obsession with ALS... Then I was ok for a week, now twitching has stared again in my foot (started realyl badly after a trip to hot pools)! NO weakness at all but constant twitching, i take magnesium every day, I just don't understand why my muscles do this!!!!!!! Any help is welcome please I get so worreid about my health it consumes my life.. If I didn't have the twitches I would be extremely happy - has anyone had this or have advice getting desperate considering my neuro and family think i'm a loony : )

I know that stress can affect your nerves.  A friend of mine, who was going through a divorce, had the same thing going on.  The dr. gave her something to get through the divorce.  She has now been able to get off the meds and the twitching has stopped.

Another thing to try is putting calcium w/ your magnesium.  If you don't have diabetes, you could add potassium or bananas, etc.  Also try laying off the sodas.  They can really through your system off and make muscles twitch

At age 40 I developed a condition the nerologist called Benign Blepharospasm which is a nervous twitch on the left side of my face.  Had many test but at age 62 the condition is still there.  What caused it I do not know although I suspect it had something to do with a root canal I had at the time.  If you have alot of root canals are amalgam fillings I would be concerned about that but removal of these things will not necessarily be the answer.  Sometimes the body gets damaged beyond repair when we put things like mercury in it.  I had gotten very sick with the root canals and mercury fillings I had in my mouth and had them removed.   My health has come back but I still have the twitch on the left side of my face.  I have learned to live with it even thought everytime I see my doctor he wants to shoot some botox in my face.  I would suggest you examine your diet and make sure you are giving your body what it needs (raw fruits and vegetables) to repair itself.  Stay away from the process foods, drugs, and man made items which are not good for the body.  There is a good chance your body can repair itself and it is worth a try.  Worry about ALS or MS is not helpful.  Just do everything you can to give yourself a healthy body and that is all you can do.
