I'm baaaack! here is my update : )

Hello everyone!
Well it's been a busy summer and I have lots of news to share.  First of all the heat this summer kept me indoors a lot, but I did enjoy sitting by the beach watching my kids play in the water on windy days as that helped the heat not feel too bad.
I had my endometrial ablation 3 weeks ago today and the procedure was a success!  I developed hives during the procedure so I'm going to an allergist in a couple of weeks to see what of all the meds that I was given caused the reaction, I was under IV sedation only so I was sort of awake during it which is what helped me telling them that I was having trouble breathing and had chest pressure when they checked me they noticed the hives, within 2 hours I was ok.
They removed a big fibroid from the uterine wall and I don't know what else that fibroid was doing to me, but since, I have felt so much better!  I had blood work done a week ago and my ferritin went from 6 to 30!!! my hemoglobin is still low but I feel that this will be going up soon too.
The last week I have felt amazing!  I don't know if I'm just having good days or if this is here to stay.  Just 2 days after the surgery I had to lower my BP meds as it was lowering it too much, I'm now taking only 0.025mg 4X day and my BP is staying in the 120-130/80-85 range.  My HR is much lower 75 at rest and under 90 with normal movement, haven't started excercising just yet but I'm looking forward to start moving!
My unexplained swelling is much better, still get it on my fingers at times so I still can't wear my wedding rings, but my feet/ankles and abdomen are back to normal, what I like the most is that I don't look pregnant anymore!
Haven't had headaches, not dizzy, and I'm sleeping better!
My Nephrologist is confident that I'm on the recovery road, the Cardiologyst that diagnosed me with POTS, seems to think that it's gone, but then again I have good days and I had a good day when she tested me last.
I'm still taking 20mg once a day of Celexa.
Last year around this time I felt good too and by November I was back in bed every day so I'm just hoping this won't repeat again this year.
I haven't had a chance to check posts but I'm hoping that all you have had a great summer and that hopefully good days are in store for all of you!
Take care!
Karin

Thank you globalhiking and mtgardner!

So far still same, BP up and down but not too bad, yesterday the 'unexplained' swealling was back, this time on only one leg??!!  this morning is fine but now it is my right hand that is swollen?  it is just weird!
Feeling better still, partly I think because the weather is so much cooler too, I've always have felt good in September but by November I'm in bed almost daily, so I'll try to do things a bit different this year and see if I can remain doing light activities longer.
I'm not back to exercising yet but at least I can do a bit more of housework - my husband and kids are happy about that as they are helping less : )
Take care and I'll update!

Hi Karin

I am a new-ish member, so I have never had the pleasure to meet you :-)

It is really great to hear about a positive story like yours.
It is amazing what an uterine fibroid can do!

I hope your new found POTSy-less state will be a permanent fixture :-)
Take care, and keep us updated.

  Hey there,

Yes! You are right..."Tweaking Meds" is usually key when dealing
w/ AD. To bad it wqas not cut and dry right???  Lol

So your Ferritin is climbing..That is Good new :)  Because it is the "reserve" for your Iron store, did It get so low that your Iron was also low?  Glad to hear the goood news :)

    Keep us updated.  Be Well,
~Tonya

Thanks Tonya!  So far so good, I'm still having to adjust my clonidine dosages as my BP either goes to high or too low so I either get too sleepy or just feeling sick, but I know it will just take a bit of tweaking and as long as my ferritin keeps climbing then I think the improvement in my health will continue.

Hope your week goes well!  Hugs!
