I have been diagnosed with POTS and chronic fatigue syndrome. Every now and then I feel very ,very, very fatigue ,weak and feel as if there was a sudden drop of something in my body, it is a very weard feeling, hard to explain, at first I thought it might be my BP,but at that time my bp is well, them I thought I could be my sugar lebels, which seems to be fine also, I feel like something is suddenly dreaning all my energy and feel like my heart is very weak. It usually happens at night before I go to bed. My cardiologist told me that it could be the parasympathetic system in over drive at that moment.
Does anyone else have this symptom? What do you think it may be? What can I do when it happens?
Thank you for your help!!!
I do suffer too from what you described.
It happens mostly in the afternoon, when suddently my energy level goes to 'empty'. I usually feel weak, headachy, nauseous and dizzy. The only thing I want is to sleep. It is compelling; I just can't resist the urge to curl up and go to sleep!
It happens almost on a daily basis, but is a lot worse following days when I did much more than I should have. Like you my BP and blood sugars are fine.
I'm not sure why; I always saw this as a symptom of POTS and dysautonomia. Probably a flight of fancy from an overstretched autonomic nervous system.
When it happens to me I think: - I have drunk enough fluid today? - Have I eaten good, nutritious food today? or just junk, or heavy meals? (heavy meals really drain me) - Have I done things that I should avoid, like taking a shower in the morning instead of before going to bed? or as I mentioned earlier, done a bit too much, and now it's pay back time from my autonomic system!
Sorry if I did not come up with a straight answer; I often find all those POTS symptoms quite bewildering and mysterious. Most of the time I can't find an explication for them.
