I think some people can go for long periods without major symptoms (though there are probably lesser ones that are ignored or unnoticed)... and then get caught by an increase or even a sudden "crash".  Sometimes the cause of the increase in symptoms is apparent (exercise, stress, illness, etc.), but it seems that sometimes things happen more randomly too.  Might call this an "Episodic" pattern... where one is usually doing alright but is hit with repeated flair-ups (of varying intensity).  The term "Chronic" would apply too, but "chronic" usually implies greater frequency or even near constant symptoms.

Every patient with Dysautonomia differs in terms of their symptoms.  Some patients will have very few symptoms, and respond well to minimal treatment.  Other patients require multiple medications, and still suffer constant daily symptoms.

Some might feel predominantly well, with few occasional symptoms.  While others might feel predominantly ill, with few occasional good days.
