No, you don't always need a d&c. I just had a m/c last Wednesday and the u/s tech said it didn't look as though I would need one. I had another round of b/w today to monitor my hcg level and make sure it continues to go down, have you had your levels checked?

No, they don't always do them.  I opted for one because it was taking over a week after the missed miscarriage and I never started bleeding.  They should monitor your blood levels and if they don't go down they may have to do one to get rid of the remaining tissue to prevent infection.  I'm sorry for your loss :(

First of all I am so sorry for your loss.  Most docs do not like to do a D&C anymore unless there is a solid reason.  Usually your body will take care of itself.  If you still have numbers in a week they may consider it.
