Burning under ribs after fall

Hi, I fell from a ladder about 3 months ago and fractured my 5th and 7th ribs. I think they are healed but am now getting burning pains under the ribs on the left side and around to my back, it is getting worse and seems to be spreading up to my left shoulder blade. My doctor has done blood tests which have come back normal. Should i go back to the doctors again?  Thanks

Hi, Thankyou for taking the time to reply. I have a scan next week which will hopefully find out what's wrong.
Kind regards
Dawn

Hi there!

Blood tests would not detect any physical issue with the chest wall; however they may be useful in detecting infections/ inflammations etc. Possibilities that may need to be considered in your case include inflammations of the chest wall, neuro-muscular issues, inflammations of the respiratory tract/ pleura, lung infection, referred pain from other structures etc. It would be best to have this evaluated by a primary care physician or an internist for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
