Thank you for your advice. Funnily enough, a few days ago I suffered excruciating pain & was unable to stand or walk at all. On being rushed to the doctor & on examination, was diagnosed with Sacroilitis Joint Dysfunction & treated with anti-inflammatory & pain medication. This pain and inflammation I would not wish on my worst enemy. I now have bookings for physio & hope this will help. When I was a work jockey, years ago, I had repeated sessions of physio as my back would go into spasm apparently due to pelvis not in alignment & they used to hold me down & wrench my right leg over my left leg keeping my shoulders flat on the bed. I am wondering if this harsh method of realignment of the pelvis did not cause unnecessary damage? Could someone please enlighten me? I am also looking for videos that can be downloaded of exercises that I can do at home to strengthen the necessary muscles to keep the pelvis in alignment. I have to be able to ride my horses again! In desperation-Janet
Well, without a detailed clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Possibilities that may need to be considered include further degeneration/ deterioration causing pressure on the neural structures, nerve impingement at a lower level, neuro-muscular causes, fractures/ dislocations, injuries to muscles/ tendons/ ligaments, vascular causes etc. I would suggest getting this evaluated by an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
Hope this is helpful.
Take care!
