I would see another doctor. Check around to see who ppl recommend. Depending on what is going on surgery may not be the only answer. As far as pain management goes, well for me it is understanding and accepting that I will have to live with some type of pain. I was in an accident about seven yrs ago and have been in some type of pain ever since. I have had to learn what I can and can't do as well as learn how long I can do things for. I very seldom take anything stronger that tylenol or advil for pain. I will generally do stretches and exercise along with ice to relieve pain. The biggest thing I've learned to do is accept my situation for what it is and not let the self pity and anger make it worse. That stuff only adds more crap to pile and puts me in a place where I can't get out of my own way. There's plenty of folks out there worse off than we are so I try and be grateful just to be alive. My accident alomost kept me from walking. When I've got a good attitude the pain doesn't seem so great. Let us know if you see another doctor. Thanks!!
only thing i can tell u is the MRI's don't lie so the truth will be revealed
Ive been thru therapy ( PT ) for 6months... So ive done everything i can do, I still do em the best i can at home..The Specialists told me He was afraid that I may be in more pain than i am in now if he intervenes...Such as removing the damaged discs areas....He said it wasnt worth it, to him...to put me in more pain than im in now, didnt make sense to him...duh I agree...Hes full of crap....You mean to tell methat in 14 yrs we havent gotten any bettter or different procedures to help to relieve back pain...thats BS..... What Exactly is pain Management??? What exactly do they do and who are they...What do they give you, if anything...Meds n Advice......or What???
What specifically have you tried? What did the specialist say?
