I have multilevel DDD, spinal stenosis, osteoporosis and a compressed nerve -- all in the lumbar spine. I had one episode in which upon rising from sitting on the floor I was hit with lower back pain so excruciating in knocked me to the floor. After applying ice, I was able to pull myself to my feet but pain radiated into my hips and both legs so I was barely able to walk. The acute pain situation resolved within 8-12 hours. I hope you are feeling better.
I have had this for many years, stenosis of the lower back. The surgeons and My two insurance co. are holding me up for years, one follow up visit after another, spine shots and all. What is kyphoplasty? Maybe that is something I could use? I am denied MRI.s now due to metal in a buckle of my eye. I hope you discover what to do and feel better...I have that "Shock" also. Wow does it take me off my feet. I am over 60 and was very active, now I can barely walk without massive amount of codeine/morphine I start at 100 Mg just to start every morning. Even with all the improvements in this area it is quite difficult to get some to actually fix it, properly. I mean who can you trust. Like all professions some passed with a 65% average and others with a 95% adverage. How can you tell? There is never anyone to talk to who has has any procedure about stenosis of the back without some sort of coplication. I am also a diabetic and had a few coplications with operations. Thanks.
