Do I need surgery on my back???

I recently hurt my back at work and have been dealing with Dr's and Physical therapy, I am awaiting my appointment with an Orthopedic surgeon, this is a little scary for me, My mri results show.....
Mild scoliosis, mild disc dehydration of the L2- L3 through the L4- L5 discs, there is disc narrowing at L2-3 and L3-4. There are Schmorl's node impressions seen within the lower lumbar spine as well as L1-L2, L2-L3, and L3-4 disc spaces. L1-L2 shows a diffused disc bulge. L2-3 shows a diffuse slightly right sided disc bulge, ligamentum flavum hypertrophy, hypertrophic facet disease. L4-5 shows a central disc bulge, ligamentum flavum hypertrophy, hypertrophic facet disease. L5-S1 shows a small central disc bulge, hypertrophic facet disease.

Patient has diffuse degenerative changes of the lumbar spine. There are schmorl's node impressions seen in the lower thoracic upper lumbar spine region. The patient has diffuse disc bulges at L1-L2, L2-3, L3-4, and L4-5 with ligamentum flavum hypertrophy, hypertrophic facet disease at these levels. L5-S1 shows a small central disc bulge with hypertrophic facet disease.

Sooo if anyone has experience with this i would love some information and advice on what you have and going through...
I am afraid that I will not be able to continue my line of work :(

Any help would be much appreciated!!! TY

thank you so much for the advice, i have been in constant pain for a little over a month and want relief, every move i make hurts, i can no longer drive, cook or clean without hurting, it horrifies me because i am only 29, my dad went through a fusion surgery and has not been in pain since, the sad thing is, is that im not sure of what is exactly wrong with me, the mri results are not very understandable if possible can you explain some of the terms?? thanks for your time, i hope that somehow you will have some kind of relief.

I have or have had much of what you do, two surgerys and then a fusion and now I am disabled and in pain every day. If I has it to do all over again, I would not have done any of it. It is your choice, wait untill the pain and phyisical issues are so bad you can no longer live a normal life. Then do it.
