I  am 24 suffering from about the same thing my left leg is so weak now they have given me a cane to walk with because i have severe thecal sac compression and severe spinal canal narrowing and a large central herniation of the back which has caused me to lose the feeling in my left leg hip and foot so you need to see a spine surgeon or an orthopedic that can refer you asap before it gets to bad. You are in my prayers and please keep me posted on what happens Laura.

It sounds like a nerve being pinched from a bulging or ruptured disc in your spine or some other source.  See another doctor or a back specialist.  I've have these same symptoms and mine come from the disc. Good luck.  When you do get over this with whatever treatment you recieve then I strongly suggest that for the rest of your life you follow the advice in the back literature (booklets on exercises, posture and lifting) that you sould get from your doctor. If not the problem will surely return.  (Advice I didn't follow).
