when your bones are fused it means they are fully "knit" together. For instance, a fractured (broken) arm is fully fused when the bones are completely healed.
I had a fusion L4-L5 last Dec and I was told NEVER to do any lifting, bending or twisting. while puting stuff in the trunk of my car and turning back to shut the trunk I felt something kinda give, its happen twice and I'm telling you its the scarriest feeling in the world. this is one operation I NEVER want to repeat. it was horriffic to say the least. I think I am now suffering ptsd from it. I shudder to even think of having another fusion so to hear some of these stories on this board sends shivers down my spine, litterly. I am scared to death to have to do this over some day. yours was only in April? everything I've read says it takes 8-12 months for the bones to compleatly fuse. we have to be very careful and our life will never be the same as before our surgeries. do not lift anything heavy or akward again. it is just not worth it. you may not be compleatly fused, time will tell, its too soon to do it again, just wait it out and be still and pray.
