DEBILITATING PAIN IN UPPER BACK - NEAR SHOULDER BLADES
help...
I have a 9+ very sharp pain radiating from the shoulder blade area affecting my entire body. Woke up with this pain and couldn't move. It took over an hour to get out of bed - I began, very slowly moving my fingers, hands-etc.
This began 4 days ago and moved from one shoulder to the other ...and worsened each day. This pain feels as though it is coming from deep w/in my body - taking my breath away.
I posted a more complete description on the community blog thinking I was on the expert site --and, don't know if that gets to you or if I needed to 'repost'

My husband & I just began to head home...we've been traveling in our RV.
There just isn't any place near us. I was hoping to get some info as to how I could possibly help myself (until we got back).

Needless to state you need to head for an emergency room for an evaluation. This is characteristic of nerve impingememt in the cervical area (even though the pain is in the shoulder blades), however there are other possibilities. Although this is likely not life-threatening I am always concerned when the statement is made "took my breath away". You really need an in-person evaluation by an M.D.
