back pain

I have a herniated L4-L5 with mass effect L4-S2 rt nerve root.  I also have spondylosis L2-S2.  I have radiculopathy rt buttocks into lower rt leg/foot with no muscle weakness.   My neuro said that he felt something else was going on beside just the disc and sent me for a EMG which is normal.   Anyone have any thoughts about what could be going on?

I haven't the pelvic pain but I SURE DO have the same sensations of the major toothache throughout both legs but mainly the right one.and in the calf and foot.....the stabbing pains have been relieved with a medication called neurontin(gabapentin)...some people also get relief from another called Lyrica...
they are both anticonvulsants but work on nerve pain....you may need to try one of these for relief from that pain
let us know what your doctor thinks of this suggestion and good luck...neuropathic pain is one of the worst pains to treat.

HI hondo...I have the same diagnosis as you do, L4L5 herniation and nerve root impingement and the radiculopathy to the LEFT buttocks that runs down the left leg/foot...but I also have muscle weakess.
I don't understand why the neuro would suspect anything else because the butt/leg/foot neuropathy are all symptoms of the L4/L5 herniation.
Do you have the numbness/tingling/burning/shooting pain?...those are all symptoms.
Do you have other pains going on?
