Hi,
How are you? What diagnostic tests were done in the past? Lower back pain may be caused by a variety of issues such as injury or overuse of muscles, ligaments, and joints or pressure on nerve roots in the spinal canal. If there was no history of trauma or injury to the back, spinal deformities, including curvature problems such as severe scoliosis or kyphosis may also be responsible. To rule these out, imaging studies may need to be done as well as direct clinical examination be done by your doctor. Take care and do keep us posted.
Thanks for the response
I have not experienced any significant trauma or injury to my back in the past. I cannot currently arrange a doctor's appointment, either, due to financial issues. Is it possible that this is merely postural kyphosis? I have attempted sitting up straighter in order to correct it, but it is gradually increasing in difficulty, with pain focused in both my back and hips. Stretching used to help, but lately (as of about the past two weeks) has done little.
I think I should also note that though in the past pain was often focused only when attempting to sit up straight, it is now much more indiscriminate. I've been trying not to rely too greatly on painkillers, but I can't seem to find a way to remedy it. Lying flat on my back feels odd (especially when breathing), though doesn't seem to particularly hurt.
