I have read MY MRI results to my doctor and  then  read MY version  I get all My  records  NO matter what  ANd MRIS are fascinating.  When we view the  CD The Neuro  is  Left wondering  What planet  the  radiologist is  from. To anaalyse  a MRI from the report is  pointless  the pictures  tell the story . I wonder why  Doctors  rely on a typed  version of such a  valuable  test.  I made my  Doctor  View ALl my MRIS and now  he will   agree with me .  only  the  Sureon can  determine  What its about . and he will not read the  report  wonder why ?

A protrusion occurs when a disk bulges, without rupturing the annulus fibrosus (outer ring) The kind that rupture are more serious.

A central disc protrusion means that the disc bulge is protruding through the center of the vertebral body, these type of bulges tend to cause effacement, of the thecal sac.

Effacement, means thinning, but a more appropriate word in this case would be rubbing or pushing.

The Thecal sac is the outer covering of the spinal cord.

Canal stenosis is caused by a gradual narrowing of the spinal canal; this can be caused by bone spurs among other things that grow into the canal.

You put it all together you have,

A central disc bulge that is partially impacting the front of the thecal sac, and mild narrowing of the spinal canal at L4-5.

No major problems, how bad is your pain?
