help mri results

Hi My Doctor did not tell me whats on my MRI.This is my MRI results, can someone please help me.there are disc degenertive changes affecting the levels from L1 to S1,with signs of disc dessication. L1-L2,L2-L3;There is minor posterior disc bulding without evidence of central spinal canal or neuroforamial stenosis,There is early formation of Schmols nodes in the adjacent vertebral end plates..L3-L4;There is a left extraforaminal disc protrusion, probably resulting in compression of tha left L3 nerve root. The central spinal canal and neuroforamina are patent.L4-L5; There is small posterior disc bulging without evidence of  significant spinal canal or neuroforaminal stenosis.L5-S1;There is a small posterior disc bulge without spinal stenosis. The conus medullaris is seen at the level of L1,and the nerve roots of the cauda equina are unremarkable, there is no evidence of paravertebral abnormality.CONCLUSION;There are disc degenerative changes at all levels of the lumber spine, more significant at L3-L4 where there is a left exraforaminal disc protrusion, which probably results in compression of the left L3 nerve root outside the neuroforamen. Otherwise only mild degenerative changes are noted,as described above. There is no evidence of central spinal canal or neuroforaminal narrowing .  NOW MY CT SCAN IS NOTHING LIKE MY MRI ARE;MY X-RAYS ARE NOT LIKE MY MRI ARE CT SCAN;I Dont get . THANK YOU Sin

another thing , we went to florida we were walking around the block, he passed out, had to call 911 , he spent two night in the hospital...MRI Brain scan, chest x ray, thyroid, the works , it showed nothing, only what we knew , that he has cervical spondolosis , but the CEA count is the prob. so we come back to Jamaica , then they decide to do Bone scan, and ct scan of the chest which showed the mass........why dont these doctors do the serious test first, why did they not start with the CT scan of the chest, they said the MRI would show everything, well it did not.....so now we wait again.  ; Its awful

Hi
this life is hell  sorry I took so long to get back to you but , it has been hard, the neuro surgeon will not do the surgery until he finds out why his CEA level is elevated, so we had to go do Bone scan, ct scan of the chest, this came back with a mass by the thyroid leading to the aorta, the oncologist is away until the 17th, I am so sorry for Owen , he is putting on a brave front and I also have to be strong.....so here we are at a standstill until tuesday, how is everyone doing?

I know about the butt pain, are you sure its not partly siatica? they have to help you or go to another dr. tell them its been going on a year and nothing is helping and your in to much pain to work. I hope you get some answers soon. insist on an MRI to see what is going on. best of luck, my prayers are with you.

hi, I will tell you my experience, maybe it will help you. for 4-5 years I was haveing back pain, lower back, the past 2 years it was so bad I couldn't even put up a christmas tree. I remember sitting in the floor crying, and this past year, whatever the grandkids put on the tree, thats how it stayed.  I got an mri which showed protrusion of disk L4-L5 and some minor nerve problems. that is what they said. they gave me the epidural injections and that was a joke. after the surgery was over the surgen told my husband there was more damage than the MRI showed.  I understand the pain, it was unbearable. most of last summer I spent in bed. On Dec 20, 2007, I had a spinal fusion surgery. it was horriffic. the worst thing in my life, (part of the problem with it being such a bad experience was that I got put on fentanyl patches, which are 800x stronger than morphine, then had to go through withdrawals like an additic.)  I am not in much pain now, but its not all gone, a little viocoden once in awhile is all I am taking.  Its been 3 months now, but I am still VERY stiff and I have a very hard time walking for very long, I am wondering if I will ever be normal again. the drs will make you try everything else before surgery. it works, but it does NOT take away all the pain. and if you get a fusion, it puts more strain on other disks in your spine and makes more surgery later in life more possiable. I would not do it again unless I was so bad I had no quality in life left and I hope I don't ever have to go on the patch again. good luck to you, if you want to write me, you can at any time.
