How can i get him to be independant

My so was diagnosed with bipalar 8 years ago. Now he is 26 years old. He has been hospitalized 5 times. His mood swings are very difficult to live with. He recently went off his meds, Lied & tried to blame his lack of medication on his doctor but I found his meds in his truck full. My husband and I have been trying to get him to move to our cabin thats about 45 minutes away. We also bought him a lot next door so he can build his own cabin because he doesn't like the one we built. He's an artist and  wanted to build something much fancier. We also offered  we could buy him a mobil home but he would have to pay a couple hundred a month to help cover the payments but he did not want to pay for anything. He recieves 700 in ssi. He's curently living in his camper in our garage and uses our house for everything, won't clean up after himself and gets very upset when we ask hom to do anything at all. He's in the hospital now. I'm ready to give up my home and move to a boat no one can drive to.

He could be eligible for supported or supportive housing (or a community residence, depending on his psychiatrist's assessment as to his needs) and there are agencies such as independent living centers (there is one in every county of every state) that could assist with this application (they don't provide housing but they can assist with having the form accepted and his social worker should help as well). This would be one worthwhile option and they can also if needed in this form of housing make sure he takes his medication as prescribed.
