It has bothered me right from when I was a child, I don't know why but it confuses me completely and it takes me a good week to get used to it. I look at the clock and have to work out what time it would be if the clocks hadn't changed :-/ Strangley though I found it easier to cope with on medication because my meds make me drowsy and also because I don't have a set time to wake-up since I've been unable to work and my husband took over the mornings with regard to the children. This one will be interesting though as I am now back in control of the mornings for school runs etc and temporarily off medication. Our time change isn't for another couple of weeks so I'll let you know ...
I always take my medicine right before I go to bed. Sometimes this is as early as 9 p.m., sometimes as late as 12 a.m., and a lot of times in between, but usual bed time is between 10 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. I take it right before I go to bed because it is very hard for me to remember to take it at all. Taking it before bed simplifies it for me because now I put on my pajamas, get my water, take my meds, and go to bed. It makes it part of a group of things, and I do things in groups easier than one thing. Like in the morning I brush my teeth and then shower. Doing it differently is distressing and makes me feel like I forgot to do something all day. Adding or changing things is a real mess.
I personally hate daylight savings time vs. changing to standard time. Since it is always on a Sunday it shortens the weekend and makes me feel rushed. And I hate that. Otherwise, it doesn't bother me.
I think you would be OK taking it an hour earlier or later than normal or at least I was told that. To answer your question uhh... I guess it kinda does mess up my sleep patterns. I'm the kind of person where if I stay up a few hours too long I have to stay up an entire day just to get my sleep straightened back out.
