Thanks for all the resposes...Like I said I am not sure the diagnosis is wrong I just feel like I am rushed in and out of there so fast how could he possibly be hearing me....gives me one med and says come back in 4 weeks...gives another med says come back in 3 weeks. I am consitantly having to call and discuss issues about side effects and dosages with his nurse who is great!! but I just wanted to know an outside opinion on different treatment options. My doctor only seemes to think theres only one way to do things....but I gave it another try and called...again...yesterday and talked to the nurse about dosage information thinking it needed to be upped and about possible side effects in doing so and she was great...so I will write my list of questions and concerns on paper and ask them on my next appointment....I dont really want to switch doctors I just like to know what my options are...again thanks for the advice :) also ILADVOCATE that was a great idea with the mood tracker that never occured to me I will do that also and bring everything with me!! :)
If you feel your doctors are not on your side, you are allowed to get another opinion. There is nothing wrong with that. In fact, you are being a responsible patient by seeking the best care for your. Good luck.
I guess you can always try to get a new doctor if it becomes a real bad issue with the one you have now. I think if you went to every psychiatrist in the world you'd eventually be diagnosed with everything under the sun.
One psychiatrist will not neccessarily agree with another. You should explain what you think is going on and be detailed so that they can best treat. Also keep a mood tracker as well and print the results to them so they can see what is going on.
