The most commonly used medication for bi-polar would be lithium. More and better info on the other boards. and therapy changes frequently as new meds are approved for use and others are used in combination instead of solely.....

hey bonsai - you are going to get the info you need on the mental health site/board.

this is for addiction.  and while i'm sure SO many would love to help, i just don't think it's our "forte."

i know alot of folks have talked about getting help for these sorts of issues on the other board.

btw - my sister was just diagnosed for bi-polar, and she's been put on Abifily.  I also know Lithium is used... bu i am NO expert.

good luck.  and please seek help from a good pychiatrist.  from what i have now see (and lived,) bi-polar untreated can not only destroy your life, but also all of your relationships.

the great news is: there's help out there to live a "normal" (whatever THAT is!) and happy life.  but you have to get the help.

Hi there! I think you may find more information on the bi-polar forum. If you look at the top of the screen and click on forums they are listed in alphabetical order. This forum is for people addicted to various substances that are trying to quit or have quit etc. I don't think we will have the info you need and I am sure they will have more info for you there! There are many medications available to treat BiPolar Disorder.  Some are used individually and others are used in combination with others.  You can find alot of info on the Bipolar forum.  You should try posting this question there, although you will find just as much info on meds by looking at the posts there...best wishes to you
