Klonopin--my new med to go with the rest

Is anyone on Klonopin? Does it work well or have bad side effects?

Hi there,

I've been taking Clonazepam (Klonopin) for 3 yrs with no side effects.  I can sleep thru the night with it and my morn dose doesn't sedate me at all.  I can't really say how well it works for my anxiety b/c that is constant, but my pdoc and tdoc think that without it the anxiety would be much worse.

Hi been taking Klonopin for about 2 years with very little problems.  Helps me sleeps but does have to be monitiored because of building up a torlorence to them,

I had an awful situation with Clonopin.I was having Panic attacks,just in the evening.Took it and had a 24 hour panic attack which set of my Asthma.I went to the E.R. It took so much meds that they had to peal me off the ceiling,asthma meds.I didn't know I was in critical condition for twelve hours and was forced to stay overnight.Every Med works differently on people.It seemed that once the panic attacks turned into panic disorder,stronger meds and anti-depressants went out the window.Valium is longer acting.I take xanax,the only think that keeps me awake and stops my Panic attacks.Xanax is fast acting,it stays in your system around 3-4 hours.Be careful and take-care.God Bless,Jen

klonopin works very well..i was on 4 mgs 11 yrs then on xanax now prefer the klonpin..xanax hits you faster but dont last at all      xanax 1.2 life is 11.2 hrs     klonpin is 36-100  in most patients...

I agree, it is wonderful for depressive disorders like anxiety, panic, OCD, and bi-polar. I have been on mine for a year+ with no side effects. It helps me sleep and when I am in bad straights (severe uncontrollable panic, dissociation with reality) I'll use it as a therapautic device. No worries.

I was on klonopin for years. I never had any side effects from it. It controlled my panic attacks and anxiety and made life bearable. After about 15yrs it became less efective and I had to go onto another meds. Good luck to you.

I have been on Klonipin for about two months now.  It is very helpful with anxiety.  It is a little sedating though.  Overall, it is worth taking it.

Yes I've been on Klonopin for 10 years, first as a side effect pill, then for dystonic spasms. It also as its prescribed for has been of help on anxiety. I have had no noticable side effects but for some people its sedating and it has a potential for a person to build up a tolerance to it so it should be taken exactly as prescribed (I've had no problem in this regard). You could ask your psychiatrist more and ask the pharmacy for a medication hand out which they should give you anyway.
