has anyone tried to wean their patients off taking abilify and try alternative measures?
I am not a professional but I am a mental health patient of over 20yrs and have seen some real crazy stuff. I was on Abilify ( I have PTSD ) i WAS TAKING 10 MG AND WITH DR PERMISSION WENT DOWN TO 5 MG. wELL AFTER TWO WEEKS, TODAY ACTUALLY i QUIT COMPLETELY. i HAPPY WITH MY CHOICE. sORRY IF THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU WERE LOOKING FOR BUT JUST MY EXPERIENCE.
We aren't doctors here. Did you mean to ask this in one of the forums where they have actual doctors?
If you yourself want to wean off of Abilify, you should talk to your doctor about it. If you are bipolar, it is highly, highly unlikely you will do well with just "alternative" medicines, if that's what you mean. If you just want a med change, that's a perfectly reasonable thing to ask your doctor about.
