Common nightmares?

Just curious...have had nightmares consistantly for as long as I can remember.  as I cycle through depressed states, the more intense the dreams become until some nighs I refuse to go to sleep because i no what waits for me.

Common thread of my nightmares are 'demons' that tear me apart.  Wondering if others have such dreams.

hell1971: dreams about death (and birth) signifies a new beginning... are you going through major changes in your waking life when you're having these nightmares?

BeeKeeper: I looked up "demon" in the dream dictionary and it states... To see demons in your dream, represents ignorance, negativity, distress or your shadow self. It also forewarns of overindulgence and letting lust give way to your better judgment. As a result, your physical and mental health may suffer.

You can interpret that as you wish, but if you're mostly having them when you're depressed, to me it means self-hate (and I can TOTALLY relate). Like, you're so depressed in real life that it carries over into your dreams/nightmares.

My nightmares consist of anger. I get into arguments and scream out loud to the point of waking up my spouse. It's embarrassing because I curse the weirdest things. Or I am abandoned by my spouse; I need to be rescued and he just walks away.

I have always sufferred nightmares as well as what I call daymares, nightmares but I am fully awake. I beleive this is very common in Bipolar. Mine are very graphic and are always including me or my children, I also have dreams that continue through the whole process from death to funeral to living without that person or them living without me, I sometimes wounder if this is a process I go through to confirm I am needed and that I would be missed if I killed myself.
