I don't know what it is.im not autistic but my daughter is and it's the same sort of thing with her when u disrupt her routine.i hate not being in control.the time difference is 5 hrs and I forgot my meds one night and had less than half another so I'm sure that's had an effect.he has been great bless him but me sleeping all day on hol isn't exactly nice x
Some people have some issues with traveling and can't be away from home for more than a certain amount of time before they start feeling irritable, which can create a self-destructive cycle since surely the person doesn't feel good being irritable and snappy because they know they're bringing others down.
But the med time taking could be an issue if you are not accounting for the time change. If you are and you take it at 10 back home but are taking it at 8 here (for example; it's probably more than a 2-hour time difference), then I'm doubting it's the meds. If you're not doing that and just kept it at 10 their time, too, it can have an effect until your body can adjust to it.
Also consider your sleep pattern was interrupted, and sleep has a lot to do with most people's episodes.
If entertaining the children is too much for you, is there any way you can ask your partner to help more? Maybe your partner can take them somewhere for a couple hours while you rest here or there?
