Statins have been shown to cause muscle soreness/wasting and Alzheimer's like symptoms. The latter go away when the drug's discontinued.
Do a LOT of googling on statins and the cholesterol myth and make your own decisions.
My Psych NP just upped my Lamictal from 300 to 400 per day. I guess it's just coincedence about my dad's diagnosis. I hope it is. He's doing great btw. Can't really tell that much difference. He's a great guy.
I am on a statin,,,does that affect memory?
I'm on Lamictal and have had memory issues with it, big time. It's also worse depending on what cycle in my BP I am [ie. if I'm depressed or dissociating or not, etc]. But yes, when my dosage of Lamictal goes up [or down], I tend to notice a difference in my memory recall, and my headaches...
I haven't had any memory issues with Lamictal & Wellbutrin. By chance are you on a statin for cholesterol?
I have memory issues big time. My long term recall is horrible, and I am finding new learning tough. I can still remember really traumatic events, but I found the other day I was recalling when my husband proposed and I can't remember if he got down on one knee or not. It was really worrisome to me. There is a site called Lumosity that has brain games that are supposed to help with memory and recall. I am going to join in the new year (once the Christmas bills are out of the way. - it is only $80 a year).
