Feel like I'm tipping into hypomania

Anything I can do to stop it or attenuate it?

I have a lot of work to do, but instead I find myself unable to focus, talking to strangers and buying $70 worth of plants (dammit! haha). I'm BDII, and it isn't severe or anything, but I'd really like to be able to focus enough to do work, I have deadlines coming up and my brain doesn't want to cooperate!

- Med Notes: I'm only on a low dose of cipralex ..

Yeah I normally only have 1 medium cup a day, at most. But that other day I had 1 large and another medium later on. I'm going to keep trying to cut down on it. Tea is a good option. I don't normally have any corn syrup/ sweeteners or eat things that contain it so maybe I can keep trying to cut stuff out that could trigger anything.

Thanks! (thanks also Fiesty13 ) =)

I have yet to try any drugs, but cutting out caffeine has helped. I limit it to 1 cup of coffee, occasionally, or two cups of tea, most often. I have been drinking calming tea, like chamomile and mint, if I feel slightly off in any way. Corn syrup is the other one. I cut it out of my diet, kinda hard to do, but that has helped a lot. Any mood altering chemical seems to make things worse.

I don't blame u,I didn't want meds either but to b honest it's the best thing I've ever done.i thought I could manage on my own but I couldn't possibly.everyones triggers are different but caffeine, certain meds, lack ov sleep and stress all play a part in me going hyper so it could b that u just need to sort something out that will stop u going that way.good luck tho x

also just a side question/thought: I drank way more coffee than usual yesterday. Is it possible that it pushed me over a bit into hypomania for a brief while? Has anyone else had this kind of reaction to caffeine?

I really don't want to be on a mood stabilizer... So I was hoping of trying to fix this another way. I doubt there is though. I am feeling a lot better today, so I'll just keep track of everything... I see my doctor in 2 days so I guess I'll just let them know..
