Ok, have been busy training the past 6 months, Have managed to lose 17kgs and have never felt as healthy as I am right now. I'm exercising essentially 7 days a week now. I'll be competing in the Melbourne Marathon in a few weeks time, can't wait. I've been battling with a torn calf the past couple of months and have been running on an elliptical trainer up until today where I did my first run for a while.
Bipolar people can do anything :0)
Thanks very much for your answer, i read this message to my daughter in hope that she understand how important is excersice for this ilness, is very nice to see other people with BPD acomplish many positive things.
I was diagnosed 3 years ago :0)
Helps in so many ways, Helps burn of the energy during hypomania and helps create serotonin when depressed let alone all the social benefits if they join a club or team, to name just a few. My theory is medication as needed, through exercising regularly I've needed less and less medication where now all I take is supplements with Xanax as a backup off switch if I get too anxious. So far this year I've had to take only one Xanax and its December :0) That being said if I was required to take any medication I happily would, just don't need to now, my pushbike is my pill.
Recommend joining a club as exercising alone is really tough, also have something to train for such as a race or some other type of achievement to stay focused. The benefits are immense :0)
