Can we ask what drugs you are using for your Bipolar? Memory loss can be a side effect of some drugs.
Have you changed anything lately or added anything your drug cocktail?
(sounds so nice doesnt it? Drug cocktail.... Just imaging a martini glass full of your drugs with a little umbrella...)
Hi I have a lot of problems with my ability to remember things like (times dates ) I keep a note pad with me most all the time.Sometimes conversations get lost.People telling me I said so and so and Im cluless.Male of female???If female this could be pre menapausal issue. If your male Then have a good laugh You may want to chart this and see where it shows itself the most Good-luck
I would prefer not mention my meds as I am a public speaker and I would not want to influence others about medications. I will say this, none of my meds list Memory loss as a side effect. Just wondering if anyone has ever taken some sort of supplements with luck to help Memory Loss.
I think it depends on a few things, your age for one. Are you on other meds besides those given for BP? I find my memory isn't as good, and my pdoc said it's rare but can happen. I try to take Omega 3's, that's supposed to help with brain function, and if your diet isn't optimal. You might want to give it a shot! Cheers Jane
I understand completely. If you like you can message me, Im in Australia so im not likely to leak anything :)
Some supplments do cause memory loss, some of the Atypicals can cause it for one and so can some Benzo drugs in some circumstances. One key thing with any drug in the MS or AD class is hydration and general health but ultimately If you are experiencing memory loss your doctor is your best person to speak to - its a serious symptom and one that needs to be examined.
ALL antipsychotics can produce cognitive decline; it has to do with neural networks declining in one region of the brain and increasing in another. I learned this in neuropsychology at the graduate level. Also, you may experience a decline in cognition if you have a thyroid disorder.
Or for about 10 other reasons as well. Which is why seeing a doctor is always the best idea.
