If you miss a medication, can you feel it immediately?

Two nights ago, I took a couple of muscle relaxers (as prescribed) to help my back so I could sleep.  The next day (yesterday) I was zonked all day, could barely hold my eyes open.  I had taken my morning dose of medicine, which includes 1mg Ativan.  I didn't take the afternoon dose of 1mg.  Later in the day, I felt horrible, shaky, weepy, angry, blah blah blah.  I took my usual evening dose and woke up this morning fine.
Do you think it was the result of the muscle relaxers just remaining in my system for a long time or the not taking the Ativan as usual.
The long and short of it is,  when you miss a dose of something,,how long does it take for you to feel it?

Ativan makes me feel very angry when it has started to wear off, I have gone into a rage before and felt very out of control so I think that is probably what you have experienced. The muscle relaxers together with Ativan would probably be responsible for the drowsiness.
I don't taken Ativan reguarly, my doctor only prescribes them during a crisis..
It can take a fair few days for me to notice any difference if I miss my mood stabilisers but if I miss my anti psychotics ( Seroquel ) I don't sleep and feel a little hypomanic, talking non stop, pacing around, anxiety etc.

I notice a change pretty quickly although often it is in hindsight. I have more energy is the main thing because my meds make me a bit drowsy. If I go too long I get a wicked headache. If I get the headache then I know I missed a dose. Mine are antipsychotics and mood stabilizers though so that is a big of a different beast versus benzo's. Most benzo's are also mild muscle relaxers so mixing the two could be part of what happened as well. I wouldn't take muscle relaxers with any mood meds personally. Unless prescribed by a doctor.

Depends on the half-life of the drug.  After the half-life time frame has passed, half the drug is out of your system, then after another half-life passes, another half of that half is out of your system and so on.  It is generally accepted that it takes 7 half-lifes for it to clear out of your system entirely.

It depends on the drugs half life rogelio. You can google the half life of ativan, and I don't think it is very long. So your body may have been reacting to not having the ativan when it usually does. As for the muscle relaxers I do not know off the top of my head, but google the half life of those.

Another idea might be to call your pharmacist, and if he/she is not helpful, call one from a different store. I do that sometimes to get more information and it works teehee!

I hope this helps. Hugs. -Bradian
